Skilled Migrant Visas Fast-tracked For Australian Regional Area

Skilled migrants who are intending to live in Australian regional areas will have their visas fast-tracked below a $19.4 million plan declared on 8 Feb. Skilled migrants will have their applications of visa accelerated if they migrate to regional Australia below the $19.4 million plan.

David Coleman, Immigration Minister on Friday declared the initiative as territory and state treasurers gathered in Canberra to address population growth and overcrowding issues.

The money announced by the Government will be utilized over the 04 years. The Home Affairs Department administrators will travel to the Australian regional areas to support the local businesses to obtain more skilled workers.

Below the plan, there will be a preference processing for visas sponsored by companies in regional areas, as well as contracts where local councils can hire workers from abroad.

Our officers will be on the area to address regional migration possibilities with regional companies and communities, and also to understand first hand the regional labor problems they face, Mr. Coleman told.

Scott Morrison, Prime Minister has earlier flagged migrants would be asked to spend 05 years in an Australian regional area if they want PR. Mr. Morrison has also signaled cuts to Australia’s yearly migration intake to reduce overcrowding in major cities.

Treasurers Talk On the Growth of Population
