Details About Quebec’s Recruitment Drive
It was the first recruitment drive of Quebec to be conducted in Europe outside. The 22 Quebec organizations represented shortlisted 7,000 appeals and conducted 900 recruiting interviews throughout the two-day event.
It was conducted by Quebec's Diversity, Immigration and Inclusion Ministry (MIDI), with officials on hand to support employers with the recruiting process of temporary workers.
Organizations can benefit from personalized assistance and meet people who aspire to work and enhance Quebec with their skills, told Simon Jolin-Barrette, Diversity, Immigration, and Inclusion Minister. Since winning the Quebec provincial election in the year 2018, Coalition Avenir Quebec (C.A.Q) government has created controversy with its policies on immigration.
Despite there being an evident labor shortage in the Quebec province, Premier Francois Legault started ahead with his proposal to drop immigration in the year 2019, from 50,000 to 40,000 immigrants.
The C.A.Q government also proposed legislation that would eliminate a backlog of 18,000 applications of
Quebec Skilled Worker dating back many years.
