PEI Immigration: Latest PNP Draw Issues 135 Invitations For Canada PR

The Immigration of Prince Edward Island aimed Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact applicants in its recent Expression of Interest draw.

The 18 July 2019 draw observed 135 invitations announced through the Provincial Nominee Program of Prince Edward Island. Express Entry and Labour Impact applicants obtained 118 of the invitations announced, with Business Impact applicants receiving the outstanding 17.

PEI began its Expression of Interest system at the beginning of 2018 and has performed monthly draws ever since.

In the 7 draws conducted so far in 2019, P.E.I has invited 922 applicants, including 789 by the streams of Labour Impact or Express Entry and 133 through the stream Business Impact.

P.E.I. announced a sum of 1,446 invitations during 2018, the initial year it conducted an Expression of Interest system. Of these, 1,240 invitations given to Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates, with the outstanding 206 given to Business Impact applicants.

The most significant draw took place on 18 October 2018, where 297 applicants received invitations.

PEI Express Entry Stream

The category of P.E.I.’s Express Entry runs by considering applicants already in the Pool of federal Express Entry for a nomination from the province.

Such a nomination scores additional 600 points to an applicant’s CRS score and effectively ensures an Invitation to Apply for Canada PR.

The Category P.E.I. Express Entry highlights two pathways to Canada PR, one for applicants with an employment offer and one for applicants without an employment offer.

PEI Business Impact Category

Work Permit Stream

Individuals are appealing under the Stream P.E.I. Work Permit must receive a work permit from Canada and work for a P.E.I business for a specific amount of time as indicated in a Performance Agreement.

Following the Performance Agreement is satisfied; the candidate must make a minimum CAD 150,000 investment in the business and engage in managing the business daily from within P.E.I.

Earlier, Prince Edward Island managed direct PR business streams, but these were ended in Sept 2018 over immigration scam concerns.
