Ontario Issues 242 Invitations Linked To Express Entry Candidates Speaking French

On January 9^th, Ontario has invited 242 candidates in the first draw linked to Express Entry, to apply and seek the nomination for permanent residence in the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream. 

This is one of three immigration streams in Ontario that is aligned with the Express Entry system that attracts skilled overseas workers.

Through the Express Entry Canada manages the pool of candidates for three federal top skilled programs for immigration. These are:

• Canadian Experience Class
• Federal Skilled Worker Class,
• Federal Skilled Trades Class

All the aspiring Candidates in the pool get a rank based on the Comprehensive Ranking System score after considering work experience, age, education, and language proficiency.

Canada also invites a specific number of the premier-scoring candidates to submit the application for permanent residence by using the regular draws in the Express Entry pool.

After obtaining the provincial nomination 600 additional CRS points, raise the score that is above the score threshold required for draws in Express Entry which is a guarantee to get the invitation to apply leading to permanent residence.

Details of this Skilled Worker Stream

The OINP uses the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream to search the pool of Express Entry and find the candidates meeting the eligibility requirements of the stream. Other requirements, wish that the candidates have to read, understand, write and speak French as demanded at the Canadian Language Benchmark level of 7. They also must read, understand, write and speak English at the CLB 6 level.

The OINP stated that 242 candidates in Express Entry receiving the Notification of Interest in this draw had a CRS score in the range between 433 and 472.

After obtaining the provincial nomination, the score is boosted by 600 points making it easy to receive the invitation to apply for permanent residence in a succeeding Express Entry draw.
