Ontario Immigration: Latest Draw Issues Invitations To 26 Entrepreneurs

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (O.I.N.P) has announced 26 invitations to apply to entrepreneurs below its Entrepreneur Stream.

OINP Entrepreneur Immigration Draw Details

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (O.I.N.P) Entrepreneur Stream is intended to bring business owners and entrepreneurs from overseas to move to Canada and either open a new business or acquire a current business in the province of Ontario.

The invitations to apply were announced for candidates with scores within 132 and 200. Only applicants with Expressions of Interest (E.O.I) obtained by the OINP within 22 Nov 2019 and 17 Apr 2020 were qualified.

This is the 2nd draw of its class in 2020. After announcing 66 invitations in 2019, the province of Ontario has now issued invitations to 46 entrepreneurs so far in 2020.

This is the 4th draw since the minimum qualification criteria for the program experienced notable change. The demanded net worth for the prospective business inside the Greater Toronto Area (G.T.A) was reduced from CAD 1.5 million to CAD 800,000, and outside the Greater Toronto Area (G.T.A) reduced from CAD 800,000 to CAD 400,000.

The minimum required investment for the prospective business inside the Greater Toronto Area (G.T.A) was reduced from CAD 1 million to CAD 600,000, and outside the Greater Toronto Area (G.T.A) reduced from CAD 500,000 to CAD 200,000.

The needed business experience of an applicant as an owner or a sr. manager had also modified. It is now expected that an applicant has 24 months of experience in the past 60 months. Priorly, an applicant was expected to have 36 months of experience in the past 60 month’s time frame.
