Invitations Announced for Skilled Visas in July 2019

The Department has published the information about invitation round of SkillSelect in July 2019. The invitations number for the Skilled Independent (subclass 189) visa on this has risen to 1,000, which is an increase related to the last few months, which has issued only 100 invitations. The invitations number for skilled regional (subclass 489) visa also rose to 100, which is an increase related to the last few months, which has issued only ten invitations. It is the third time, in this round no invitations were announced to candidates who secured less than 80 points for the subclass 189 visa.

SkillSelect system of Australia controls the profiles of applicants for two of skilled visa programs of Australia those are subclass189 and subclass 489 visas.

Applicants are given a rank based on a score given beneath SkillSelect’s Ranking System (EOI) that analyzes parameters such as the age of the applicant, educational qualification, study in Australia, skilled work experience, and language proficiency in English.

A fixed number of the leading ranked applicants receive an invitation to appeal for Australia PR, through periodic draws from the pool, and the Home Affairs Department aims to process appeals for permanent residence within eight months.

Process of Invitation and Cut-offs

The top-ranked applicants by points score are invited to appeal for the appropriate visa. For candidates who have similar points scores, the time at which they attained their points score for that subclass visa decides their invitation order. Expressions of Interest with prior effective dates are invited first than later dates.

Pro-rata Occupations Minimum Point Scores Cut-off and the Dates of Effect

Due to high-demand levels, and in keeping with prior years, the below profession groups will be subject to pro-rata methods to ensure availability of invitations over the program year.

SkillSelect initially allocates possible places to Skilled – Independent (subclass 189) visas  and then the outstanding to Skilled – Regional (Provisional) (subclass 489) visas. If all seats are taken up by subclass 189 visas, then there will be no invitations announced for subclass 489 visa in these professions.
