The economic immigration system of Canada is the most accurately built among the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) 36 member nations and attends as a role model for those viewing to develop how they handle migration, the Paris-based organization states.
As per the new report, Canada has the most significant, longest-standing and most extensive and refined skilled labor migration system in the OECD, whose members comprise France, Australia, Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
The report praised Canada for its achievement in the areas of attraction, integration, selection, and holding of economic immigrants and for supporting a whole-of-family strategy that takes into account the requirements of whole family members, not just the primary applicant.
At a conference to reveal the report in Toronto, Thomas Liebig, a senior immigration expert with the OECD, told the independent evaluation of Canadian economic immigration system is the 10th in a series of reviews conducted by the OECD.
Top of mind for Thomas Liebig was Canada’s continuous drive for growth depends on substantial research and evaluation.
Liebig told this is the most evident in its strategy to the Express Entry system, which controls the pool of appellants for 3 major economic immigration programs of Canada— the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Federal Skilled Worker Class.
The report describes Express Entry is the most extensive selection system in the OECD, one that enables for a more polished selection of labor immigrants than in peer nations.
Liebig said Canadian Express Entry system works as a “role model” for achieving economic migration that several OECD nations look to for guidance.
Canada has also been flourishing in expanding the benefits of immigration beyond its most provinces which are populated, namely by its several territorial and provincial nominee programs.
Raising the amount of regional selection managed by the Express Entry system is one of the OECD’s critical recommendations for Canada.
Each province and territory in Canada with a nominee program now has minimum one stream that enables it to select or “nominate” Express Entry applicants.
