Significant Modifications Made To Post-Graduation Work Permit Of Canada

Canadian federal government has prolonged the application window for foreign graduates to appeal for the Canadian Post-Graduation Work Permit.

Applicants are also no longer needed to be containing a Study Permit to appeal for a for Post-Graduation Work Permit, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada declared on Feb 14, 2019.

Earlier, candidates had 90 days to appeal after the formal date of graduation. Below the current rules, the period of the application has been extended to 180 days or 06 months.

It enables students to have extra time to present their Post-Graduation Work Permit appeal once they receive their graduation notice from their institution, an I.R.C.C statement told.

The modifications were declared as part of a program delivery update by I.R.C.C.

Post-Graduation Work Permit

The Post Graduation Work Permit provides global students the opportunity to work after graduation by giving a Canadian work permit, and it is valid for up to 03 years.

The P.G.W.P is excluded from the requirements of the Labour Market Impact Evaluation.

The applicant should have accompanied a recognized post-secondary school or a secondary school that provides qualifying programs, for a minimum of eight months.

For programs last within 08 months and 02 years, the Post Graduation Work Permit is announced for the duration of the study. For global students who have studied for 02 years or higher, a three-year permit is announced.

The important work experience obtained during this period can count towards a PR application by the Federal Express Entry of Canada.
